It’s a new month. A new season. The signs of Fall surround us. Fields of pumpkins, Maple trees are showing off their yellow, orange and red leaves. Having a sweater handy for cool mornings is a good idea.  And most common, colorful mums in the landscape and entries of our homes are abundant. The aroma of fresh baked apple pie and a roaring fire warms our hearts. The long hot summer is over and I, for one, am grateful.

Before long we will be wrapping up this year and what a year it has been. We have had the chance to reevaluate and decide what our priorities are. Many have had to adjust schedules and parents have had to work together to get the kids educated. We have had to learn to be content staying at home.

The busyness of this modern world often pushes God to the back burner. We are busy building careers, raising children, taking care of the elders in our family. It’s a lot. It’s not that we don’t believe in God, it is that we can’t seem to make time for Him. Has that happened to you? I think we all get busy and I know I am guilty of this. We assure ourselves we will get to Him soon. We’ll take the kids to church, we will join that Bible study, but we will do all that later when we have more time. But then things changed earlier this year for all of us. A virus came, followed by a quarantine. Terms like “social distancing” and wearing masks have changed our lives. But with those changes, we were also given time to think about what is important to us. To re-chart our life. Make new plans. Adjust.

Hopefully we have grown closer to God in all that has challenged us these last months. His guidance and wisdom each day is the most important part of our day. The world we live in now has changed. But know there is hope for the future and with the leadership and protection of God, we can walk the path together. Having a divine appointment with God each day will be like a fresh start each morning, To walk in His Will and to be the person He wants us to be is the greatest act of obedience. And God rewards our faithfulness and obedience. Finish out this season with God at the top.For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. Romans 8:5
