I can do all this through Christ who gives me strength. –Philippians 4:13
How many times have we all walked to the beach toting chairs, umbrellas, coolers, kids and towels just praying to God for “more strength”!! I know I have!! “Let’s try to make it all in one trip” is my husband’s motto, much to my dismay. Traipsing about in the hot sand, which feels like burning coals, we try to find the perfect spot. Alas, we have set up for the day already extremely exhausted and weary!
For He gives power to the weak. And to those that have no might. He increases strength. Isaiah 40:29 I just have to look around my small little circle to see many are struggling with strength. Many friends are trying to cope with losses; business owners needing more business; some friends are coping with ongoing medical issues and more. We are all in need of strength. Some more than others. As Believers, we must allow those that are in weak in spirit or physically weak to lean on us until they can stand alone with God. Yes, there are limits and no one wants to be taken advantage of. That is a topic for another day. But those that are hurting need to talk sometimes. Believe it or not, just our presence and our caring effort offers up support and strength. But we hesitate sometimes thinking to ourselves, “what do we have to offer”? A phone call, an email, or a text is sometimes all that is needed. In this world of electronics, it is easy to reach out. And a handwritten note of support that is received often becomes a tangible treasure. Whether we have strength to give or we are the ones needing it, God is at the center of it all…providing what we need from Him or through Him from others. But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
